Blue Origin Hutto (Project Blue Hub)
The project
An aerospace and defense research facility proposed by Blue Origin on Innovation Boulevard inside the Hutto Crossing industrial park in Hutto, Williamson County. Williamson County Commissioners Court approved a Chapter 381 economic development agreement on August 20, 2026 carrying a $674 million capital investment figure. The Hutto Economic Development Corporation approved its own package earlier; those terms are withheld under Texas law while negotiations continue.
The project has been public under the code name Project Blue Hub since at least August 8, 2026, when it was reported at $650 million and 1.3 million sq/ft. Blue Origin has not accepted the county agreement and has not confirmed the site. State approval is also outstanding.
In predevelopment. The rail reads off the record: an incentive is approved and not accepted. Steps to the left shown ‘prior to tracking’ happened before The Scout began watching this project; we did not witness them.
Why it matters
At 2,000 jobs Blue Origin would become the largest employer in Hutto. The city already carries the Skybox PowerCampus Austin site, 600 MW across two private 300 MW substations in Oncor territory, planned to roughly 4 million sq/ft with Prologis. One city is absorbing an aerospace campus and a hyperscale campus at the same time.
Read at county scale, Williamson is taking aerospace, hyperscale computing and semiconductor demand inside a twenty-mile radius: Blue Origin in Hutto, Skybox in Hutto, Samsung’s Taylor megafab targeting a 2027 production start, the $48M Amazon sortation center at Gateway35 in Georgetown, and Project Mustang’s 665 acres in Taylor’s ETJ under a 90-day zoning hold.
What is a Scout Project Dossier, and why should I care?
Because we watch it until it stops producing a record. Every filing, every permit, everyone named on them – with phone numbers, the day they appear. This project is at Predevelopment; the rest arrives as it moves.
$29 buys the file as it stands. A subscription buys everything it becomes.
The Scout – Austin Region. This record accumulates: it records the changes as the project moves, and never rewrites what came before.
