Wooldridge Elementary School modernization
The project
A rebuild of Wooldridge Elementary School on its existing campus at 1412 Norseman Ter in north Austin. The City of Austin issued building permit 2026-016600 BP on 2026-08-19 for 94,951 sq/ft of new construction at a stated valuation of $51,150,000, with Joeris General Contractors as contractor of record.
The Austin ISD 2022 Bond Program page for the same campus carries a budget of $38,918,000, describes the scope as a full modernization at its current location, names BGK as designer and Core Construction as contractor, and puts the opening at the start of the spring 2027 semester, given elsewhere as January 2027.
In preconstruction. The rail reads off the record: a building permit has been issued and no groundbreaking is on the record. Steps to the left shown ‘prior to tracking’ happened before The Scout began watching this project; we did not witness them.
Why it matters
The permit and the district’s own published budget disagree by $12,232,000 on a single campus, and they name different contractors. Both records are public and both are current enough to be relied on by a reader who checked only one.
This is what the records layer is for. The permit feed carried a cost, a square footage, a contractor and a parcel id on the day it was issued. The district page carried a designer, a program manager, a schedule and a different cost. Neither source alone shows the discrepancy. Reading both is the product.
What is a Scout Project Dossier, and why should I care?
Because we watch it until it stops producing a record. Every filing, every permit, everyone named on them – with phone numbers, the day they appear. This project is at Preconstruction; the rest arrives as it moves.
$29 buys the file as it stands. A subscription buys everything it becomes.
The Scout – Austin Region. This record accumulates: it records the changes as the project moves, and never rewrites what came before.
